🎡 Washington D.C. From Reagan Skies to Marble Dreams

In skies so bright, where planes descend,
In Reagan Airport, there was land.
From windowpanes, the waters weave,
The Potomac movesβ€”a tale we believe.
Born in mountains, winding with grace,
A river of history, time can’t erase.

On its storied banks, the “Underground” fought,
With courage and hope interwoven, it sought,
To ferry the soul from bondage to grace,
A path forged in stealth, a historical trace.
Through monuments glistening and memorials grand,
The Potomac still flows, a lifeblood for the land.

Through Arlington’s pulse, the Pentagon near,
Then D.C. unfoldsβ€”both distant and clear.

The Capitol rises against the sky,
With Freedom in bronze lifted high,
An iron crown from trials past,
A nation forged, enduring, vast.

Within, the Rotunda glows with art and sacred, painted air,
Where George Washington ascends in fresco fair,
The heavens part in colors bright, his figure lifted high,
A mortal turned to myth and light beneath the watchful eye.

O Capitol, both stone and soul, both memory and flame,
You carry forth a nation’s voice, imperfect, yet the sameβ€”
A place where past and present meet, where countless futures call,
And hope still walks beneath your dome, enduring over all.

Nearby, where quiet gardens gleam,
Awakes a world like living dream.
At the DC Botanic Garden it grows,
A place where every leaflight glows.

Through glass, the Conservatory breathes,
With emerald light in woven wreaths.
From desert bloom to orchids rare,
A painted world beyond compare.

In the center of the Diamond City’s flow,
Where office towers rise and breezes blow,
Farragut Square, an oasis of green,
Amidst bustling life, a tranquil scene.

On Pennsylvania Avenue, where the old trees stand,
Rises a symbol shaped by time and hand,
The White House in the morning glow,
Whispers of history in the winds that blow.

From the days of John Adams to the voices now,
Every promise made beneath its brow,
Echoes through the columns, strong and wide,
Carrying dreams that never hide.
Oh, house of light, stand tall tonight,
Through storm and shadow, you still shine bright,
A nation’s heart in black and white,
Hope lives on in your endless light.
Flames once rose in the War of 1812 night,
Yet from the ashes came renewed might,
Hands rebuilt what war had torn,
And from that struggle, strength was born.

Leaders walk where footsteps stay,
In the Oval Room they shape the day,
Every word, a turning page,
History written on a living stage.

Across the lawns, the people see,
A mirror of what we hope to be,
Not just power, not just might,
But a guiding flame in darkest night.

Union Station, with echoes of trains,
Links journeys together, history remains.
With arches like whispers from ancient Rome,
A testament built for travelers’ roam.

Seventy pounds of gold, like sun on the dawn,
Paints its beauty anew, though ages have drawn.

Centurions guard as if time stands still,
Forty-six statues, all frozen in will.
Shields added softly to cover their grace,
Symbols of stories that time can’t erase.
