🎡 George Washington Bridge. Northwalk.

Beneath the vast, unyielding skies,
Where Hudson flows with whispered sighs,
The George stands tall, a ribbon spun,
Uniting shores, two cities won.

With cables strong like ancient tales,
It sways with grace through storms and gales,
Four mighty strands, a fortress built,
In steel and hope, its dreams are quilt.

From Fort Lees cliffs to Heights above,
A thoroughfare of sighs and love,
Two decks embrace the rush of life,
Commuters weave through day and strife.

Each dawn it wakes to rumbling sound,
Two hundred ninety thousand bound,
A journey starts with engines roar,
Each heart a passenger, to explore.

I was searching for the bridge walk to cross the bay,
Entered Bridge Bus Station lost along the way,
Buses lined up shining in the light,
Heading north and south but none walkside were right.

Bergen County, Union City, far and wide,
Boston, Philly, DC, on the other side,
But the path I need was not in sight,
Had to turn around and leave the light.

Walk outside and find the church so tall.
Thats where NorthWalk starts near their wall.
SouthWalk is closed for now its out of sight.
But North will lead you through the day or night light.

Upon the banks where rivers meet,
Where echoes of the past retreat,
Holyrood, your steeple stands,
A beacon where our journey spans.

Nestled near the bridges grace,
A doorway to a bustling place,
From Manhattans heights to Jerseys reach,
Your welcoming arms, like love, can teach.

A crucifix high the Holy Rood stands tall.
New Yorks proud landmark protecting all.
Iglesia Santa Cruz its sacred name .
New Sanctuarys light through storm and flame.

Since eighteen ninety-three its walls have stood.
Through trials and time for neighborhood.
A Peoples Church with open doors.
Hope rises up from wooden floors.

The stained glass glows with stories old.
Of faith and struggle brave and bold.
Each pew holds whispers prayers and tears.
Sheltering souls through passing years.

Near the bridge that connects land and dreams,
Where walkers and bikers share lifes flowing streams.
Its doors open wide, a refuge for all,
In this cherished embrace, no one stands tall.

A fortress for families, a shelter of grace,
Defending the hope when adversity face.
Holyrood stands as a symbol of care,
A tapestry woven with compassion to share.

From 179 street where Holyrood church rise,
Among the bustling crowds and the endless skies,
I lace my shoes, find the rhythm, and go,
Across the bridges and past the rivers flow.

The Hudson glide peacefully in the daylight,
Reflecting the skyline, a breathtaking sight,
Ferries sail gently, as commuters weave,
In a tapestry rich, of those who believe.

So let us walk slowly, let the world spin around,
In this everyday adventure, where freedom is found.
From the highs of the skyline to the calm of the bay,
Norwalk awaits us to walk, bike ride, or drive other way
