Wheels up from New York, chasing the sun so bright,
We flew into Los Angeles on a clear morning flight.
Twenty-five, thirty minutes circling wide,
The city sprawled out endless, stretching side to side.
Downtown skyline rising like a silver dream,
Towers piercing clouds in that golden beamβ
From the window seat, I couldn’t look away,
LA opened her arms in the light of the day.
Oh LA, you’re a wild, beautiful ride,
Palms swaying high on streets bathed in light.
Warm sun on my skin, ocean calling my name,
From downtown heights to the beach’s sweet flame.
We’re walking your ways, feeling alive in the breeze,
Los Angeles magic, putting my heart at ease.
Touched down and headed straight to the heart of the town,
Walked through Downtown streets, never wanting to slow down.
Hopped on the Angels Flight, that little red car so grand,
Climbing Bunker Hill from Hill Street to Grand.
Short ride to the top, city views unfolding wide,
Skyscrapers sparkling, feeling the thrill inside.
Then off to Glendale, but the coast pulled me near,
Long Beach stretched out, waves crystal clear.
I walked for hours on that soft, sandy shore,
Palm trees whispering secrets, I couldn’t ask for more.
Redondo’s pier calling, El Segundo’s gentle sway,
Ocean breeze and salty air carrying the day.
Ships on the horizon, fish markets fresh and bright,
Sun high overhead, everything feeling right.
Back to the city on the Metro subway line,
Zooming underground at a hundred kphβfeels so fine.
New cars gleaming, open gangways flowing free,
Modernizing fast for the Olympics in ’28, you see.
From the beach to the core in a blink of an eye,
LA’s getting quicker, reaching for the sky.
Oh LA, you’re a wild, beautiful ride,
Palms along every street, under that endless blue tide.
Warm sun, bright days, ocean in my view,
From Angels Flight highs to Long Beach’s calm hue.
We came for a visit, but your spirit stays strong,
In the palms and the waves, where my heart sings along.
Los Angeles dreams, forever in my soul,
Till the next flight home, you make me happy.
