Join us and learn how-to fix a flat workshop and basic mechanical maintenance that help riders to become self sufficient on the road. A bicycle cooperative (“bike co-op”) environment will provide individuals with tools and bike stands to work on their bike and answer individuals’ questions and concerns.

Judith Desire is the founder of Uptown & Boogie Bicycle Advocacy, an organization that provides cyclist based social activities to the Uptown Manhattan and Bronx communities. Our goal is to provide New Yorker riders with a greater and better understanding of commuting and traveling throughout the Uptown and Bronx areas as well as to promote awareness on the health benefits of cycling.

The event is indoors at the Mullaly Park Bike Field House. Enter at 164th Street and River Avenue, Mullaly Park.

Join us as we provide riders with a three-part workshop to help maximize your riding experience.
The event is held indoors at the Mullaly Bike Park Field House. Enter Mullaly Park at 164th street and River Avenue.

Join us as we provide riders with a three-part workshop to help maximize your riding experience.

In this winterizing workshop, riders will learn how to prepare their body and bicycles during the winter months. A panel led by Judith Desire and cycling enthusiasts will discuss personal techniques and methods to winterizing a bicycle and how to remain alert and safe on the road. Learn to change a flat tire and more basic bike workshop skills. Short films on biking in the elements will be screened during the day. A Q&A will follow the talk.

Join Mullaly Bikepark and NYC Parks for the debut of the collaborative murals by LAMKAT and Laura Alvarez. Through the use of layering, pattern, geometry, and the visual suggestion of movement, the collection of murals throughout Mullaly Bikepark strive to aesthetically represent the technical precision and skill necessary to accomplish tricks on and off the ramp. LAMKAT and Laura Alvarez are both multi-disciplinary artists living and working in the New York City area.

Art in the Parks: Active Open Space is a partnership between NYC Parks and the New York City Department of Health &Mental Hygiene, in collaboration with the Fund for Public Health in New York and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, to activate park space with health-inspired art installations that promote physical activity and strengthen community connections. Funding for this project was made possible by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
