Interested volunteers are asked to RSVP by email to citizengrower@gmail.com, and wear appropriate work attire.
Citizen Grower, The NYC Compost Project, and the Block Associations in Chelsea are teaming up for this year’s pumpkin composting event on November 1st at Clement Clark Moore Park. Now in its 3rd year, this sustainability initiative focuses on teaching kids and adults in the neighborhood about the benefits of composting food waste as we smash up the post-Halloween jack o’lanterns and send them to a site to be decomposed and reused as a healthy soil fertilizer.
This will be a fun community event!
