Lincoln Center Out of Doors Presents the Kronos Quartet with Special Guests, Asphalt Orchestra and More
Lincoln Center’s Out of Doors performance series brings music and dance out into the streets.

The Kronos Quartet debuts new works with Dan Deacon and orchestrator Jherek Bischoff. Bang on a Can’s Asphalt Orchestra rearrange the Pixie’s album, Surfer Rosa and composer Jacob Garchik leads a “trombone shout choir” in a performance of The Heavens. Also enjoy a world premiere performance by electronic musician Amon Tobin and composer Yuri Boguinia and more.
Parade sets by Garchik and Asphalt Orchestra start at 6:00 p.m. at Josie Robertson Plaza and Hearst Plaza.

A Tale of Two Nations brings maracatu, a traditional Afro-Brazilian dance, to the U.S. with a collaboration between Maracatu Nação Estrela Brilhante (Bright Star Maracatu Nation) and Nation Beat. Big Chief Monk Boudreaux & the Golden Eagles, a Mardi Gras Indian tribe, continue the cultural festivities with their traditional sounds.
