MillionTreesNYC Volunteer Planting Day Presented by the NY/NJ Super Bowl Host Committee and the NFL
Join MillionTreesNYC this October to help plant 20,000 new trees in Rockaway Community Park!
“Every spring and fall, thousands of enthusiastic and environmentally–minded New Yorkers volunteer with MillionTreesNYC to plant young trees in public parks. This October, for the first time ever, MillionTreesNYC will be planting all 20,000 trees in one day in one park! Join us at Rockaway Community Park, Queens to make New York City greener and greater, and to build a more resilient and vibrant coastline.
For two years, NYC Parks removed invasive plants to prepare Rockaway Community Park for this day. Then, last October, Superstorm Sandy hit this 253-acre park full force. We now need your help to plant a native coastal forest to restore this community park.
Registration for this event is required.
