It is an innovative and immersive observation deck located at the top of the One Vanderbilt skyscraper in Midtown Manhattan, next to Grand Central Terminal. It is far more than a traditional observation deck, combining stunning city views with a multi-sensory artistic experience.
Unique Features and Experience
Immersive Art Installations: Designed by artist Kenzo Digital, the experience features a series of mind-bending, mirrored rooms and light installations. The main space, called “Transcendence,” is a two-story room with mirrored floors and ceilings, creating an illusion of infinite space and reflecting the city in a breathtaking way.
Glass Boxes: For the more adventurous, “Levitation” offers a series of transparent glass boxes that extend out from the building’s facade, allowing visitors to stand 1,070 feet above Madison Avenue with a thrilling view of the street below.
Interactive Elements: The experience also includes a room with large, floating silver balloons (“Affinity”) and an outdoor deck with a bar and additional views.
Architectural Integration: The experience is built into the unique architecture of the building’s crown, providing unobstructed views of the Chrysler Building and the Empire State Building from a new vantage point.
